It's fair to say that the reaction to No Man's Sky has been underwhelming, at best. With critics failing to fall in love with the survival-focussed exploration adventure and with many fans feeling outright lied to by the developers, Hello Games' ambitious project is suffering a pretty torrid time right now.

But while a great many of the complaints being levelled at the game are accurate and valid, a lot of the bad press that's been thrown at No Man's Sky is being whipped up out of all proportion. A frenzy of sorts has ensured, and it's in this type of environment that imperfect games can be damaged irreparably and see their reputations tarnished before they even have a chance to establish themselves.

Recently we brought you a discussion around the more valid complaints people can have with No Man's Sky, but this never meant that the game was completely without reprieve. There are plenty of things to fall in love with when you take to your starship and plot your course through the galaxies, with more than enough exciting features included.

With that in mind, it's time to take a look at some of the game's very best bits. Here are ten of the coolest things that you need to do in No Man's Sky!

10. Share Some Sweet, HUD Free Screenshots

Hello Games

For PC players, sharing clean screenshots of your various discoveries is made easier by the fact that the HUD can be disabled in the game's graphics options. Sadly for those of you playing PlayStation 4, there never seemed to be a way of removing this from your No Man's Sky snaps.

Except there actually is. In what may be a leftover bug or glitch, you can cheat the PS4's share option into capturing a screenshot that doesn't have the HUD visible. When you hit the 'Share' button, you need to quickly follow this by tapping the 'Options' button during the brief delay while the shot is captured. Then, once the sharing options appear, you'll be greeted by the clear shot.

This is obviously ideal for sharing your discoveries without landscapes or views being obscured by your suit's vitals or the pesky waypoints that tend to get in the way. Sorry PC players, the best screenshot shares aren't just reserved for you anymore!
