3. Don't Underestimate Alfyn

One of the most underpowered characters in straight combat next to Tressa, Alfyn's special ability is to combine a number of ingredients both offensively and defensively.

Using Concoct is how you make the best of all the "wheat icon" materials you'll pick up on your travels, or get from fights. Take note of whether the descriptions say they're a "minor" or "major" modifier, as this dictates whether the recipe targets single opponents/friendlies, or an entire group.

Levelling Alfyn up and equipping items that up Elemental Attacks mean you can shower foes in poisons, put them to sleep, silence them, OR heal your entire party from any ailment, every turn.

His skill set might be a slow burn and he's more a dedicated support, but Alfyn can become invaluable.
