Overwatch: 10 Perfect Ideas For The Christmas Event

12 days of Loot Boxes? Yes please.

Christmas is a lovely time of year. That one moment on the calendar where family and friends can get together, discuss all they leave behind and what's worth anticipating in the year ahead.

But whilst that can be refreshing to catch up with loved ones, chances are, all you'll really want to do is sit upstairs with your favourite gaming console and kill people.

On Overwatch, of course.

Overwatch is still immensely popular for an FPS that isn't newly released, and the recent addition of a Halloween mode was a fantastic way to keep players engaged, and I'm confident the ideas won't dry up soon, either.

As Christmas comes around, it may be time for them to think about something to do with the holidays. With that in mind, here are some thoughts that may benefit Overwatch through the Christmas period.

10. Christmas Sprays

Sprays in loot boxes are the one thing that carries very little weight or value within the game itself and, to be honest, they’re only useful if you really want to make your mark before you go out into the war zone. Sprays are a fantastic collectors item, but being limited to just one makes them hard to attach yourself.

The Halloween versions were reasonably generic, with a moon and then the character doing something to that moon (don't get any ideas). What a fantastic opportunity Christmas presents in the sense that the moon has nothing to do with Christmas.

Envisage Torbjorn riding a sleigh with reindeer, Reaper putting coal in children stockings and Roadhog being served up as the Christmas dinner. Sprays are supposed to define a character, and it'll be a fantastic way of getting some players to understand the persona of who they're playing.
