22. Widowmaker – Winter
Widowmaker embodies the femme fatale trope, sniping enemies from afar before purring a witty putdown in her native French. With her slim frame, long hair and wall-hack ultimate ability, there’s something extremely sleek and streamlined about the hero, all qualities which are best emphasised by her Winter skin.
Skins like Odette and Comtesse add all kinds of distracting complications to the character’s core design, respectively transforming her into a ballerina or vampire. Winter stays most true to the essence of the hero (or, in this case, villain).
Widowmaker, once known as Amélie Lacroix, was kidnapped and reprogrammed to become the emotionless assassin we see today. She was even forced to have her heartbeat slowed down, resulting in her unusually cold and blue skin. Her Talon skin provides a look at her previous-appearance, but once this novelty has worn off it has little else to offer.
