PlayStation Classic: 10 Best Games NOT Included
3. Tomb Raider 2
The first game was good enough but this one marked a huge leap forward. With the likes of Horizon: Zero Dawn, Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed taking massive inspiration from it, it also has one of the industry’s biggest legacies.
The rebooted trilogy came to an end this year with the magnificent Shadow Of The Tomb Raider, and while the gritty tone was well recieved, some fans miss the over the top 90s stylings the game used to have. A costume change every five minutes? Check. Gravity defying gymnastics? Check. Shooting the player in the face so they can’t watch her in the shower? Unbelievably, check.
The game added some new weapons, vehicles and generally was less buggy than the first outing, improving in every way a sequel should. Still one of the best adventure games ever, Tomb Raider II was the PlayStations second biggest selling game in the UK. For what it’s worth, the UK’s top dog was Rayman which is included on the Classic.
And when all’s said and done, everyone would have loved the chance to lock the butler in the fridge again.
