Pokémon Sword & Shield: 10 Galarian Forms We Need To See
1. Pidgey
Pidgey is a classic Pokémon who could do with a bit of a boost, especially with Megas going the journey. A Galarian variant could be the shot in the arm it needs.
Given Britain’s famously terrible weather, Pidgey’s Normal Flying type could get a little twist and become either Water Flying or Ice Flying. There is going to be an icy region in the Galar mountains, so that seems like a great fit.
As for Water, there’s several lakes in the game, a confirmed Water Gym Leader (Nessa) and there’s sure to be lots of rain. It’s hard to think of a more resounding symbol of Britain than a good old fashioned downpour, so even if it’s not Pidgey, there likely will be a Galarian Water ‘mon.
Regional birds have been a staple of the game since Pidgey in Kanto, and Corviknight in Galar is shaping up to be one of the best yet. Giving Pidgey a bit of a boost could bring it up to equal footing. It’s a classic Pokémon with arguably the most Gen I design; sharp feet, angular eyes, detail silhouette... an update could really be the best of both worlds.
