It's quite hard to pin down exactly what makes trophy-hunting so addictive. Many gamers have gone to incredible lengths to obtain these digital rewards, including slogging through terrible licensed tie-ins like Hannah Montana and Terminator Salvation. Would we have played these games if not for the easy platinums? Probably not. Addiction at its finest!

This love for trophies has spawned a culture of its own, with entire websites dedicated to the sole purpose of gathering shiny prizes from every game imaginable. And there's a reason for this - a large trophy collection adds a sense of prestige to a gaming profile, allowing people to show off their impressive numbers to their friends - and complete strangers. At its core, gaming is about competition, and trophy-hunting taps into this notion in a primal way.

And the best way to give that collection a boost? Bag those easy plats. Along the way, you'll pick up a slew of bronzes, silvers, and golds, but at the end of the day, it's the destination that matters, not the journey. Whether you see trophies as a meaningless distraction or as the sole reason for gaming, there's no denying that it's incredibly satisfying to hear that 'ping' sound satisfyingly tingling out of your speakers.

And there's only one way to hear it, over and over again. These are the ten simplest PS4 platinum trophies you should set your crosshairs on...

10. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - One Last Time

Naughty Dog

Unlike a lot of other simple platinum trophies, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is not a terrible game. That'll make the hunt significantly easier to enjoy, and as an added bonus, the trophies will come at you thick and fast.

You will have to complete the game twice - there's no way around that. But by skipping all the cutscenes and breezing through sections you've already completed in your first playthrough, it's feasible to get both runs done in about 20 hours. On either playthrough, you'll want to make use of a guide to locate the collectibles - treasures, conversations, notes and journal entries - scattered throughout the campaign.

Once that's done, there are a couple of well-documented glitches you can make use of to obtain the Sharpshooter and Speedrun trophies, and then you're almost home. After that, it's a simple case of using chapter select to mop up the remaining miscellaneous trophies, none of which will cause you any trouble.

It's appropriate that Uncharted 4 is subtitled 'A Thief's End' - this platinum is a steal.
