PS5: 10 Iconic PlayStation Franchises Sony Needs To Revive
1. Syphon Filter
Metal Gear Solid is dead, long live Syphon Filter and its long-awaited return.
Alright, slightly melodramatic there, but it's about damn time we had a return from Gabe Logan, hopefully not dead after the events of Logan's Shadow.
Yet that was thirteen years ago, and we've still never had an answer.
Syphon Filter and Metal Gear Solid were often touted as rivals back in the day, but they were slightly different vehicles. The latter had nanomachines, the former had viruses. It also had a decent run, until its last outing on the 2007 PSP/PS2 title.
Never say never though, as 989 studios became Bend, the bods behind last year's Days Gone. Given that the story drops massive hints that the Syphon Filter virus is behind the outbreak, it raises many questions.
Namely two: can we have another Syphon Filter game please, and why isn't one in development already?
The stealth/action title was adored on the PlayStation, even if it did try and fail with a couple of attempts on the second console.
With the success of Days Gone and its ties to the world of Gabriel Logan, would better time than now to revisit the series?
