One of the most interesting PS5 rumours suggests that Sony are gearing up to take to the stage once again early next year to properly unveil the new console. An apparent e-mail has been acquired inviting the major publishers - like Activision, EA and Capcom - to the Playstation 2020 Meeting in order to show off their latest next-gen games.

Specifically, the event is apparently taking place on February 12th, and will function nearly identically to the Playstation Meeting held back in 2013, mere months before the launch of the PS4.

Consequently, there is a precedent, and with PSX seemingly ruled out once again for this year, it would make sense for the console maker to get out before E3 for their first big next-gen push. They've clearly avoided this year's E3 and other press events for a reason, and one can only assume that's to have the strongest possible lineup of surprises and reveals for their own focused event, which could only be a matter of months away.
