Though it got off to a bit of a rocky start and was downplayed by Sony themselves, Playstation Now - the online streaming service that features the ability to play a whole library of PS4 and PS3 games through a renting system - has seen a huge turnaround for the company. Perhaps bolstered by the ability to download full PS4 titles rather than being forced to stream them, PS Now subscriptions have risen, with over 700,000 people regularly using the service.

And you can see why; though it's not perfect, it's a great way for Sony to leverage their impressive back catalogue and capitalise on new, accessible revenue models. Even better, if cloud technology is all it's cracked up to be, and the company can make streaming even more reliable, then the service should only grow going forwards.

Xbox Games Pass is currently the closest thing to the "Netflix-for-games" system the industry has, but Playstation Now could be a worthy alternative when the latest iteration releases alongside the PS5.
