Even though it's taken a back seat, Sony are apparently gearing up to make remote play an integral part of the PS5 experience. Seemingly bolstered by the success of the Switch (and the hesitation to release another handheld), Sony bosses have discussed how cloud gaming and the incoming implementation of 5G networks has made their dream of seamless remote play a reality.

How it's actually going to work hasn't yet been revealed, but Sony have been keen to get their software working on virtually any device in the past. Consequently, instead of releasing a dedicated device, it's probably more likely that you'll be able to play PS games on your phone or tablet, or wirelessly connect your TV and controller via the cloud (though the Vita will still no doubt remain compatible as well).

They haven't mentioned it in detail like Microsoft have, but Sony are onboard with cloud gaming, which is quickly becoming the focus of every publisher and console maker.
