3. Resident Evil VIII: Village Is Real

Almost four years to the day that Resident Evil VII was first revealed at E3 2016, Sony finally put fans out of their misery by dropping the first trailer for Resident Evil VIII: Village.

As it turned out, almost all of the rumours about the game seemed to be correct: Ethan is back, the game is set in a village with other locations including a castle and a forest, there's a supernatural witch-like antagonist, and yes, Chris Redfield has been drastically redesigned.

It certainly seems like yet another sharp departure for the series, and an intriguing one at that, though Capcom sadly has yet to confirm whether the game will support PSVR like its predecessor.

Given that RE8 will be retaining the previous game's first-person perspective, it's at least seeming relatively likely.
