Ranking All Of Microsoft's First-Party Studios Worst To Best
2. Ninja Theory
Notable Games: Heavenly Sword, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice
In Development: A Star Wars VR Series: Vader Immortal
A freshly acquired first-party studio - this is a big-time win for Microsoft, as Ninja Theory is one of the most beguiling creators of action games working today.
Starting with the goofy Xbox-exclusive Kung-Fu Chaos before switching sides for the PS3-exclusive Heavenly Sword - which is likely to become one of the most ridiculously underrated games of that generation - their games are like an alluring blend of thoughtful indie with Triple-A stylings.
They're also responsible for the multi-platform Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, which, believe it or not, happens to be another ridiculously overlooked game of that generation.
After that failed to find commercial success, they were forced to take several commission gigs so they could finance their first full-blown indie game; Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, which was a rich experiment that featured the company completely let off the leash.
With the constant financial pressures they faced through the years, the chance for them to create a new, big-budget property without concession is electrifying.
