Ranking Every Game Of The Year Winner Since 2010

1. Grand Theft Auto V (2013)

What more can be said about Grand Theft Auto V that hasn’t already been said? From its early ragtag days as a top down driving sim that tasked you with causing carnage, the franchise has come a long, long way.

It’s quite possibly the most complete game ever to hit our consoles, and all eyes will be on GTA VI to see if it can top it. However, given the continued success of GTA V’s online play (something Rockstar no doubt hope to continue with Red Dead Redemption 2), it may still be a while yet. In April this year, the online mode had reportedly made them $6 billion. All three Avengers movies pulled in just over $5 billion combined.

Of course, money making is not the only standard. While no one is going to shell out hard earned cash for a bad game, sometimes great titles slip under the radar, while safe, yearly releases like FIFA rake it in.

But again, all that can be said about GTA V has already been said. It’s dark and grisly but hilarious and over the top. Gameplay is tight and immersive, but can be picked up easily. It’s as close to faultless as games get.
