Red Dead Redemption 2: 5 Western Tropes Rockstar Must Avoid

4. Cattle Wrangling

Red Dead Redemption was critically lauded upon its release, and has gone on to be considered one of the greatest games of all time. However; one glaring, throbbing blemish on the otherwise near-masterpiece has to be that darn horse-herding mission.

Easily the absolute lowest point of the game, horse wrangling mission was finicky and hard to control; a trial-and-error battle against the game’s controls for what felt like an eternity. This of course raises the question as to why Rockstar even included the mission at all? Well, because any self-respecting Western involving a farm in any way simpy has to have some good ol' cattle corralling, right?

A throwaway trope that was given unnecessary attention to RDR’s inarguable detriment, we can only hope that this is one staple of the Western genre that Rockstar won't deem fit for their long-awaited sequel.
