Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Cities That Could Be On The Map
9. Fort Laramie, Wyoming
While not a town in the truest sense, Fort Laramie was a major diplomatic site, military installation, and trading post, around which a thriving, long-lasting community of transients sprouted up.
At nine miles long and six miles wide, the settlement was much more than a simple fort. It was home to dozens upon dozens of buildings, most of which were dismantled.
In its early days, Fort Laramie sat at the center of the fur trade, and it was purchased by the U.S. Army in 1849 to protect emigrants, travelers, and traders. Passengers en route to the west coast would stop at the Fort Laramie trading post, staying for weeks or months until they could gather enough supplies to continue on their journey.
It was also played a significant role in Red Cloud's War, as well as the Great Sioux War of 1876. This is something that the next game could focus on. Sure, they touched on the conflict between the Army and Native Americans in the prequel, but only towards the back end. It'd be interesting to see a game wherein these conflicts are in full swing, as opposed to isolated conflicts in the closing days of the violence.
