Red Dead Redemption 3: 10 Cities That Could Be On The Map

6. Dodge City, Kansas

This cattle town saw Bat Masterson, Luke Short, and Wyatt Earp take part in the so-called Dodge City War. It hosted more gunfighters than any town in America.

You may be familiar with the saying, "Get out of Dodge." This is the Dodge they're talking about.

Dodge City, Kansas, was once a quiet, humble settlement. That changed in 1876, when an outbreak of Texas cattle fever prompted the government of Kansas to establish a quarantine line, pushing the cattle industry further west. Suddenly, Dodge City became the go-to livestock destination, earning it the nickname "the queen of the cow towns".

Dodge City rose in prominence, and saloons, brothels, gambling houses, and bullfighting rings sprouted up fairly quickly. The town hosted more outlaws and gunfighters at one time than any town in the West. Among them were Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, and Doc Holliday.

While Wichita had a lawless streak, it was nothing compared to that of Dodge City. Whereas Wichita would've been a comfortable stop for the Van der Linde gang, Dodge City would've been a home away from home. Perhaps Rockstar will take some cues from this legendary cow town.
