Resident Evil 2 Remake: 9 Iconic Moments We Can't Wait To See

1. Mr. X's First Break-In

A fashion sense straight out of a 50s crime thriller he may have, but Mr. X has no interest in solving mysterious disappearances. No, this Tyrant's modus operandi is to hunt down any remaining samples of Birkin's G-Virus and kill anyone, especially law enforcement, still alive standing in his way.

Despite being tucked away in Leon and Claire's B scenarios, Mr. X has shot to the top of Resident Evil's hall of fame, not for his terrific dress sense, but as the precursor to the iconic Nemesis, and, just like his descendant, he's not restricted to playing by the same rules as every other enemy the survivors encounter.

It's that uneasy, constant sense of unpredictability that made you wince with fearful anticipation every time an empty corridor presented itself, hoping that, if Mr. X did make a grand entrance, this time would be the last time. That the character isn't considered canon had many fearing that Capcom would decide to cut him from the remake, but now we know that not to be true, well, let's just say Birkin has competition in the villain department.

As far as Capcom's plans for Mr. X are concerned, expect the unexpected.
