Resident Evil 8 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See

1. The Return Of Shinji Mikami

Although the developers responsible for Resident Evil 7 did a damn fine job at bringing the series back from the brink, fans couldn't help but wonder just how great it could have been if it had series-long director Shinji Mikami at the helm.

Responsible for the original title as well as the revolutionary fourth game, Mikami spearheaded the franchise into new directions for years. He left to start his own company a few years ago, working on games like The Evil Within since then, but that doesn't mean he's ruled himself out of returning to the horror series completely.

Speaking in an interview last month about the possibility of working on more Resident Evil in the future, the director said that he'd never say never, and that he "might" be persuaded to come back if given complete freedom.

It's probably a long shot, but if Mikami was in charge of the next game then it could turn out to be everything fans have hoped for.
