Rocksteady's Superman Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See
6. Playing As Both Clark Kent And Superman
Rocksteady's Batman games may have done a stellar job of allowing players to embody the strength and stoicism of the Dark Knight, but downplaying the role of Bruce Wayne was the trilogy's gravest mistake.
Arkham Origins went to great lengths to display the dynamic shared between Bruce and the Bat by illustrating the tole Batman takes on the man behind the mask, but - for Asylum, City and certainly for Knight - Wayne was considered something of an afterthought (even if you could play as him in the sequel's introduction).
That's why it's so important that Rocksteady's new title allows players the opportunity to take on Clark Kent. He's just as important as the big blue boy scout, and while gameplay opportunities were limited when it came to embodying Bruce, the same isn't nearly much as true with the Daily Planet reporter. Giving players the chance to explore the Planet's newsroom, interact with characters like Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane and Perry White, as well as experience both sides of the character's personality, would be fantastic to see play out in the game itself.
Of course players want to fly around Metropolis and fire their heat vision at different things, but - as is the case with most superheroes - it's Superman's subtler elements that prove to be his most compelling. Making Kent a focal point of the story, then, should not be dismissed out of hand.
