Sega, Capcom and Namco Working on 3DS Crossover Game

Three of the biggest names in video games will be crossing over.

Three of the biggest video game publishers Sega, Capcom, and Namco have combined to create a crossover game for in efforts of making even more money for Nintendo. The three publishers have combined forces to create a Nintendo 3DS title tentatively called "Project X Zone (with the X pronounced as 'cross')". Sega, Capcom, and Namco are going to contribute some of the biggest characters in their franchise for this new strategy RPG. According to the magazine article the characters will fight in tandem during battles; here is a list of the charters we know so far will be in the game:
Ryu & Ken (Street Fighter 0) X and Zero (Mega Man) Demitri and Dante (Darkstalkers, Devil May Cry) Chris and Jill (Resident Evil) Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars) Pai and Akira (Virtua Fighter) Kurt and Riela (Valkyria Chronicles) Ulala and Touma (Space Channel 5, Shining Force EXA) Sanger Somvold (Super Robot Wars) Jin and Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken) Kos-Mos and T-elos (Xenosaga) Yurie and Estel (Tales of Vesperia) Kaito and Black Rose (.hack)
A new interview about the game has revealed some new details such as the characters will use moves from their respective games (Ryu and Ken can use Shoryuken). I can also report that this list is not a final list, there will be new characters introduced sometime in the future. Apparently this whole idea got started when Namco Bandai approached Capcom about the idea and later Sega was brought in. There is no set release date for the game but I am sure we will hear much more about the game in the near future. As exciting as this game sounds I am a little timid considering who knows how many of the characters will actually be central to playing the game and how much will be characters just making appearances for fan service sake. With that being said this will be one of if not the most anticipated game for the 3DS; hopefully more info will be released about Project X Zone in the coming months.
