12. How To Pick Up Items Automatically

In a ridiculously cumbersome move that points to a school of game design we need far less of i.e. playing the game to make things less awkward, Shadow of War starts out with you awkwardly hold R1/RB to pick up items or equipment. Being that this is also the same button as grabbing orcs or activating missions, it's... a little broken, to be honest.

Well, fear not - there is a way to walk over items and hoover them up like every other game in existence. Simply head over to the Character screen, then down to the Wraith row and four spots along you'll see 'Treasure Hunter'.

Nab this perk and voila - walking over something adds it to your inventory. Granted those four spots mean you'll need to level up four times to invest the necessary points, but Treasure Hunter is a quality of life improvement that removes one of Shadow of Mordor's most egregious negatives.
