Proving that the references here are far and wide, Bethesda included one to 2006 Spartan-fuelled action-romp 300, being that if you head west of Karthwasten and go halfway up the mountain you'll come across this slain sabre-tooth tiger, laid to rest in between two other cliff faces. Sadly you'll have to do a fair bit more searching to come across a living tiger to do battle with (or get your face mauled off in the process), but in addition there's also a skeleton of who we assume is supposed to represent King Leonidas just in front of the fallen creature.
