Soul Sacrifice Confirmed For Europe

PS Vita title Soul Sacrifice is headed to both European and American shores.

While we do not have any official release dates yet, we can confirm that the PS Vita title Soul Sacrifice is headed to both European and American shores. The news comes courtesy of the Playstation Blog. Project lead, the legendary Keiji Inafune, creator of Megaman and Resident Evil was on hand to drop a few more details about the fantasy title.
What I wanted to illustrate in this game was a 'reality blended into a fantasy world. The word 'fantasy' normally points to a story that is fictitious; however, with Soul Sacrifice I wanted to illustrate a 'reality' within a fantasy that wasn't sugar-coated. Cruelty is a reality in our world, and we have to make sacrifices and pay costs on a daily basis. I wanted to blend this 'reality' theme into a fantasy world, one filled with magic, and create a new type of gaming experience that relied on the player making sacrifices in order to obtain great power. There is a €œdark pleasure€ lying in between fiction and reality that none of us knew was there. If you simply think of it as a €œdark fantasy,€ then your expectations will be betrayed €“ but in a good way. Please look forward to Soul Sacrifice. It will be a game that players around the world will surely enjoy.
The game is not a Demon's Souls / Dark Souls spinoff which was what many assumed when it was first announced, but an original title dealing with loss and sacrifice in a strange and fantastical world that is grounded within reality. Working alongside Inafune to provide what will no doubt be a stellar soundtrack are Yasunori Mitsuda who's previous works include Chrono Trigger, Mario Party and Xenoblade Chronicles, and composer Wataru Hokoyama who provided the orchestral compositions for Resident Evil 5 and composed the soundtrack to Afrika, among other things.
