South Park: The Fractured But Whole - 10 Most Notable Character Omissions
7. Lorde
Randy Marsh is South Park's most prominent and beloved adult character and at least one episode per season usually focuses on him idiotically attempt to immerse himself into whatever is trending and embarrass his son in the process. These have ranged from becoming a celebrity chef to becoming a murderous Minecraft addict, and were humorously listed one-by-one by his wife Sharon on one of the occasions that she wanted to divorce him.
Other episodes focus on Randy's drinking problem, which plays into his involvement in The Fractured But Whole. Already drunk yet determined to procure more alcohol, he pursues the player character and Captain Diabetes in an attempt to recover his car keys and is fought as a boss as a result.
One of the series' most random developments in recent years has been the revelation that Randy is actually Lorde, the New Zealand pop singer, using auto-tune to masquerade his terrible singing voice. Nobody (not even his own daughter, who idolises the performer) seems to bat an eyelid at the fact that Lorde is supposed to be a teenager yet Randy's disguise is simply a wig and a dress, with his moustache remaining visible.
The singer herself has joked about the revelation in the past, and giving Randy's alter ego a cameo would've both acknowledged this and given him something else to do in the game given that he is a nonentity in proceedings after he is fought.
