Spider-Man PS4 Sequel: 10 Things We Want To See

Fully playable Miles or we riot.

Spider Man Ps4
Insomniac

Insomniac Games' Spider-Man is one of the most critically and commercially successful games of 2018 so far, and with damn good reason. It's a rarest of licensed video games that fully captures the essence of the source material, and as such it's decisively the best game starring the web-slinger to date.

However, it's pretty damn far from perfect.

Indeed, those 9/10 and 10/10 reviews do feel like they jumped the gun somewhat, or in the very least ignored a number of extremely abundant flaws which keep Spider-Man far short of masterpiece status.

As wonderful as the swinging and combat mechanics are, there are some fairly prominent issues particularly as it pertains to the campaign and the open-world elements, which feel oddly undercooked despite the game's clear brilliance elsewhere.

Given Spider-Man's ludicrous sales so far, it's safe to say that fans won't be waiting too long for a follow-up, which could release as a cross-platform title on PS4 and PS5 as early as 2020 (more likely 2021, though).

Insomniac desperately needs to pay attention to the passionate fan feedback, however, if they're going to take this franchise to the pinnacle the IP and the fans clearly deserve. It won't be easy, but if Insomniac pulls it off, Spider-Man 2 could end up the best superhero video game ever made...
