Splatoon: 10 Best Multiplayer Maps - Ranked

Which Splatoon map rules the roost?

Splatoon was arguably Nintendo's biggest hit of the last generation, and one of the most creative new IP's in their long history. It managed to draw in plenty of new players both young and old, and gave Nintendo a legitimately brilliant foothold in online play.

Not only did Splatoon give Nintendo a much-needed brand new IP, it also introduced a completely different type of shooter. Rather than giving players the objective of killing each other, Splatoon introduced the idea of each team trying to cover as much as the map in their own colour ink as possible. Doing this increases both the speed and domination of a team, making the action of covering the map even more important than eliminating other players.

Because of this, Splatoon places a lot of importance on the environments and maps in the game. This means that many of the maps stand out and greatly complement the gameplay style and movement simultaneously.

With Splatoon 2 coming soon to the Nintendo Switch, it seemed like a good time to look back on the best of the best of the original. Hopefully, some of these maps will be ported to the sequel and changed to fit the new abilities and movement skills that Inklings can employ.
