Despite hyping up the addition of a single-player adventure in the latest Battlefront, it looks as though the developers haven’t attempted to craft an epic, expansive story mode, but rather opted for something shorter and more streamlined that'll only take fans a couple of hours to beat.

However, reviews so far have indicated that while a shorter campaign benefited Battlefield 1, the truncated gameplay of Battlefront 2 hasn't meshed with the focus on Iden Versio’s 30-year long journey through the game's narrative.

Apparently leaving little time for actual meaty story progression or character development in between action set-pieces and heroic distractions, from what critics are saying the single-player doesn’t have any surprises in store for fans of this universe, and plays out pretty much how you’d expect it to.

The heart of the sequel shows itself in brief flashes, but for the most part is obfuscated by poor execution.
