While much has been said about Battlefront 2's business model, by all accounts DICE have knocked it out the park in creating an epic, 40-player multiplayer experience.

Moving away from the basic Walker Assault action of the previous game and instead introducing a multi-tiered objective mode that retains the scale and ambition of Battlefield’s multiplayer suite, the sequel’s Galactic Assault mode almost makes up for any shortcomings.

By the sounds of things, it’s the variety available in each match that makes the multiplayer so enduring, tasking players with juggling objectives, keeping an eye on special enemies and vehicles, and swapping between different classes depending on the situation.

It might lack the destruction and verticality found in DICE’s other games, but in comparison to Battlefront 1, Galactic Assault is a huge step in the right direction.
