Probably the most anticipated of all Star Wars releases to date, DICE have a lot to live up to with their first foray into the Battlefront franchise. One of the most beloved series of games to have been released in the past decade, Pandemic delighted Star Wars fans across the world when they brought Battlefront and Battlefront II to consoles, but despite suffering difficulties as a studio, LucasArts were determined to see the Battlefront licence continued under the direction of Free Radical. Although, that proved to be a less than fortunate avenue of direction. Teased with video after video of Free Radical's cancelled Battlefront III, it's no wonder gamers are eagerly awaiting the series' long overdue return to consoles. The rumour mill is already swirling ahead of its eventual Q4 launch this year too, and whilst it may be wise to take them with a pinch of salt, chances are many of these features will be a reality by the time Battlefront hits the shelves. So, whilst we may have seen very little of the game so far, it would be fair to assume that the rumours found within this article are more than likely enshrined in fact. The developers over at DICE have already demonstrated their skill to make fun, online multiplayer a reality with their highly lucrative Battlefield series, and if these rumours are anything to go by the same could definitely be said of their version of Battlefront.
