Nina Williams back story, if told improperly, would start to sound like the old Navy Seal meme. Nina (and her sister Anna) was raised by an ex-IRA assassin who happened to be married to an Aikido master. Sent to kill Heihachi Mishima and later Kazuya Mishima, she seemingly fails in both attempts, resulting in her being forced to be a guinea pig while in cryogenic stasis. She awakens 15 years later, possessed by the God of Fighting to kill Jin. Having lost her memories, she slowly regains them. She later assists Jin Kazama in his plot. Nina is one of the quintessential female fighting game characters. She has been in every single game and has even had her own spin-off game. When people think of a Tekken character, Nina is probably among the first to come to mind. Let alone she has always had the coolest, assassin fighting style. Having a Tekken game without Nina would be akin to having a Street Fighter game that excludes Chun-Li, or a Dead or Alive entry that leaves out Ayane! Soul Caliber tried doing a major timeskip in its fifth entry, resulting in popular leading ladies such as Sophitia and Taki being excluded from the sequel. Needless to say, these exclusions added salt into wound for Soul series fans. It would be a major disappointment if the folks at Namco Bandai failed to learn from such a poor mistake.
