Telltale Games: 5 Film & TV Series They Must Adapt
It's only a matter of time...
Telltale Games have proven themselves time and time again as masters of narrative games with branching plots. They've taken on a broad spectrum of subject matter across a variety of film, movie, comic, and game franchises, and as the studio continues to develop and refine their craft, they are constantly branching out into new territory.
Many of us know their exploits and masterfully-crafted worlds and characters, and have built genuine connections with the cast of a Telltale game. Released in an episodic format, many of their titles have also received multiple seasons - each time feeling like reuniting with old friends and allies.
But what about fresh content?
There's a plethora of established universes out there with the potential to become amazing series' in their own right, and with Telltale's ability to create new and interesting characters and stories within other peoples' worlds, there's a huge potential for unique characters, settings and overall narratives to be crafted.
With that in mind, I've compiled a list of franchises that would be ideal for the "Telltale treatment" - and where a unique - and crucially, personal - adventure can be experienced.
Here are five series Telltale simply must adapt.
5. Westworld
Westworld is the newest smash hit TV series that's binge-watch worthy, revitalizing the 1970s sci-fi Western for a new generation.
Telltale have a reft of narrative cues they could take from the show too, casting us in the role of a newcomer or a "guest in the park. Other possible player roles could include that of a defective host, a park technician, or even a combination of the three, similar to how Telltale handled Game of Thrones.
The series could rely on the strong work Telltale have done with HBO in the past by having actors from the series reprise their roles, alongside providing supporting or cameo roles throughout.
The strength of the TV show, as well as Telltale's skill a crafting narratives, makes Westworld an ideal project.
