The Evolution Of PlayStation
3. The Best Generation (So Far)
Despite Xbox's best efforts to put out the fires of its E3 2013 presentation, the damage was already done. Players flocked to buy the PS4 at launch, making it the fastest selling PlayStation console of all time. And they'd have no shortage of outstanding games to play throughout its lifecycle, either.
This generation would see Sony deliver even more of the cinematic first-party exclusives that their consoles had become known for, with the likes of Until Dawn, The Order: 1886, and Uncharted 4 being just some of the games that players could experience in the first years of the console's life. Later, the arrivals of Marvel's Spider-Man, The Last Of Us: Part II, Ghost Of Tsushima and so much more would only further cement the PS4's library of games as being one of the best out there.
Another crowning jewel of the PS4's catalogue was its collection of remakes, which reimagined fan-favourite titles from previous generations. Whether that was The Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank or Shadow Of The Colossus, newcomers could now experience these for the first time, while older fans could revisit their favourites in gloriously rendered fidelity.
PlayStation had never been better than this.
