After a year of total silence, Sony and Naughty Dog finally revealed another look at The Last of Us Part 2 during September's State of Play. Along with finally announcing the release date (which is mercilessly soon: February 21st 2020, to be exact) fans were also given the most detailed look at the game yet, including a more general overview of the plot, a tease of combat and new enemies, and a whole load of fleeting images to pick apart over the next five months.
There's still plenty that's been left ambiguous - for instance, we still have no idea who that mystery woman is from the second trailer - but now we know Ellie is out for revenge after a bunch of bandits kill her love interest, Dina. At least, that's what the footage implies, anyway.
Of course, it's never that obvious when it comes to Naughty Dog, and the trailer (along with the subsequent statements and press releases) featured plenty of details that you may have missed that help cut through the ambiguity of what we think we know so far.
