The Witcher 4: 10 Ways To Blow Wild Hunt Out Of The Water
9. A Blank Slate Witcher Protagonist
Unless CDPR want to delve into the morally grey reality of how Witchers come about - and all the ramifications of hearing about the Trial of the Grasses from an outsider perspective - we'll no doubt be playing as another Witcher.
Picking your respective school would be the first port of call, getting to then wear the amulet of choice after completing the aforementioned Trial. After that, well, CDPR could either let us forge our own narrative as some sort of MMO-lite experience, Dragon Age Inquisition-style (yes, that game has a defined main story thread, but it's far more open-ended from the get-go), or we'd dive headlong into some sort of "contract gone sour" campaign.
Either way, there's quite a bit of new ground to cover if we're stepping into the shoes of a Witcher anew. From attempting to carve a name for yourself by doing contract work, to tackling corrupt leaders or other demons that have spawned for all manner of complex reasons, CDPR's two DLC chapters proved they can write microcosmic narratives with just as much memorability as anything on a larger scale - they just need to give us more say in how said narratives unfold.
