There's a good chance that The Witcher movie is being lined up as the first of several, in which case it'd make sense for the first one to start at the beginning (as the cliche goes). That being the case, we could well see a younger, stubble-free witcher, and the under-appreciated Mr. Kitsch could fit the bill perfectly here. Yes, his relatively short resume of movies has a few famously terrible ones in there, and no, John Carter didn't live up to anyone's expectations, but none of these things should be pinned on Taylor, who's always shown plenty of promise. To get an idea of why he'd make a good fit for a witcher, take his long hair and physique from John Carter, and combine it with his tortured turn as highway patrolman Paul in the second season of True Detective. Kitsch does a great job of conveying a repressed, introverted character who stubbornly battles his demons alone, and his grizzled tone suggests he wouldn't have trouble sounding the part either.
