Ubisoft Confirm Watch Dogs Legion Ahead Of E3
"God save the NPCs"
Following its leak earlier this week, Ubisoft have officially confirmed that Watch Dogs Legion (essentially Watch Dogs 3) will be receiving a grand unveiling at E3. The official Twitter account for franchise has altered its name to reflect the most recent project, as well as dropping a short teaser.
Though Ubi is saving most of the good stuff for E3, the tease does effectively indicate that Legion's leak was correct. The text accompanying the teaser reads "God save the NPCs", all but confirming the fact that the third game will allow players to jump into the shoes of any non-playable character occupying the world. Likewise, the actual phrasing functions as a clear reference to the British national anthem, again teasing the long-running rumour that Legion will be set in London.
None of this should really be that surprising, as a Watch Dogs 3 using this setting has been one of gaming's worst-kept secrets for over a year now. Still, it's exciting that Ubisoft has come out ahead of their conference to get the formalities out of the way, hopefully having much more gameplay and story footage to showcase next week.
