Uncharted 4: 20 Amazing Moments
19. Crash Bandicoot!?
Chapter 4 (A Normal Life) kicks off fifteen years after Uncharted 3, where Nate has settled down from treasure hunting, works a normal job for a salvage company and is married to Elena.
After dinner, Nate decides to play Elena at a video game with the loser doing the dishes, and that game just so happens to be...Naughty Dog's own Crash Bandicoot.
Cue Nate complaining about the long loading time, before the player is presented with the actual Crash Bandicoot game menu, and can actually play through a level of the game (and of course, you have to use the D-pad, it being an early PS1 game and all).
Considering the complex rights issues surrounding the franchise, it's pretty amazing that Naughty Dog got permission to put Crash in their game, and while this could've come across as self-indulgent from many other developers, here it was was pretty much just a brilliantly affectionate nod to a series so many would love to see make a return.
You also get to replay the game in A Thief's End's epilogue sequence, but you're not playing as Nate or Elena by that point (though more on that later).
