The 8th edition ruleset has been an absolute triumph in striking the balance between an easy to play yet immersive ruleset. Although there has been a creep into the rules getting a little bloated, it appears that Games Workshop are on the cusp of announcing either a new edition or a rule tidy of the current form.
One thing remains clear, they are not going to alter the rules drastically because this edition has been amazing and Games Workshop have never done so well.
As a prospective new player, it is still a great time to start picking up the rules of play and get a feel for the game. In the age of a YouTube channel for anything, there is a tonne of tutorial videos and tactics channels that can help you go from noob to seasoned general in no time.
