What is 1666? THQ File Fire of London Trademark

THQ apply for trademark on a significant year in British history - but what does it all mean?

Well if you went to school in the UK, and if you€™re able to retain any useful information from those days, the answer to the titular question might be painfully obvious as the year of the Great Fire of London. For THQ however, the answer is the name of their mysterious new title. Nothing has been announced about the game yet, but a US trademark was filed on February 22 confirming that THQ want the name cornered. Earlier this month THQ also filed for €˜Evolve€™ an equally intriguing moniker, with again no announcements as yet. THQ the publisher behind such games as the Dawn of War series, the Darksiders franchise and the ill-fated Homefront have been in some financial trouble of late. So perhaps these titles could spell the comeback they€™re hoping for. Only time will tell but check back to What Culture! for more details as they emerge. Speculation is bound to mount as to which direction THQ are headed, but while we have the luxury of ignorance, what do you think? Are THQ about to release a Great Fire of London game? It would certainly make an intriguing arena for a third Darksiders game, and with THQ said to be concentrating on "core franchises", that might not be such a wild assumption...
