3. Story Is King
One thing that the Attitude Era brought to the table more than anything was a conviction to story-telling in a way that hadn't been done before the advent of the era - kayfabes were darker, with more swagger and more attitude, and they allowed certain of the more colourful characters like Stone Cold and The Rock to come to the fore-front. Concepts of good and bad - of heel and face - became an awful lot more fluid, and characters who seemed to stand with a foot in each camp became the legends of the era. Those compelling story-lines and well-written characters meant far more than ever before that the bits between the fights became as important as the combat itself. The Attitude Era also provided some of the greatest moments of all wrestling history - and certainly some of the greatest and most engaging rivalries in the ring - and it rightly reshaped the way WWE was written for the better. The influence today is still very much evident - though some of the current story-lines aren't quite up to scratch - but the return to that Era when story was king might just inspire a resurgence of the same core elements in the real world of WWE.
