HBK vs Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24 will arguably go down as one of the most emotional of occasions in the history of the flagship pay-per-view, and let's admit it, there's been quite a fair few of those down the years. Why was it emotional? Because this match stipulated that if Flair lost, he would be forced to retire. And, despite having a strong feeling of inevitability to it, in that yes, we would be seeing the last of the "Nature Boy", this bout still resonates with me. After kicking out of the first "Sweet Chin Music", you just knew Flair's time was soon to be up, and after being nailed with one more kick to the head, a visibly emotional Michaels mouthed "I'm sorry, I love you," before delivering a third and securing the pin-fall. After the match, Flair embraced his family and thanked his supporters as his 35-year long wrestling career came to a close.
