WWE 2K17: 10 Most Shocking Roster Omissions
4. Bobby Roode
WWE 2K17 looks great. It’s got a huge cast of characters, tweaked gameplay mechanics, and a handful of changes that should make the Creation Suite increasingly user-friendly. All-in-all, it looks to be a steady improvement on last year’s game, which already stands as one of the series’ best.
But as good as the game looks, it’s not quite glorious, is it?
Okay, so Bobby Roode only made his NXT debut on August 3rd, but that’s barely a week removed from the NXT call-ups’ first appearances on Raw and SmackDown. It was clear from his very first appearance that Roode was going to be treated as a big deal at Full Sail, and that’s exactly what happened. He’s all-set to make a major push for the NXT Championship when his business in the Dusty Classic concludes, and Roode’s a perfect candidate to replace Samoa Joe as the brand’s top heel following the former champ’s inevitable call-up.
Some of the “glorious” hype has died down, it’s true, but Roode was a viral sensation for a while, and his Queen-inspired entrance music just needs to be in WWE 2K17. This year’s game promises a more in-depth NXT experience, but it’s going to be hard to pull that off without one of the brand’s biggest names.
