WWE 2K17: 10 Most Shocking Roster Omissions

2. Kurt Angle

For a while, it looked like Kurt Angle was finally set to make his long-awaited WWE return. His TNA contract expired earlier in the year, and when it became known that WWE were reaching-out to several former talents to fill rosters spaces in the Brand Split, nobody’s name set pulses racing like Kurt’s.

Sadly, Angle’s comeback never materialised, and fans were stuck with Jinder Mahal and Curt Hawkins instead. Oh goody…

Bringing him back to Raw or SmackDown is, of course, a highly-complicated matter, but surely it wouldn’t be all that hard to include him in 2K17? Kurt’s TNA affiliation obviously prevented this in previous versions, but that has since ended, and with his mainstream career apparently winding down, the time feels right to bring him back into the digital fold.

It almost goes without saying that he’s earned his sport. The Olympic Gold Medalist’s amateur background meant he’d always have an advantage in the ring, but Kurt is a natural performer in every sense of the word. As a future Hall of Famer, it was surprising enough to see him not brought back through the Brand Split, but downright shocking to see him omitted from 2K17.
