5. Is There Any Other Option?
In terms of something that could give us a long and fruitful showcase mode, there isn't really anything else 2K17 could feature on. Maybe the Monday Night Wars as a whole? Yes, but a lot of WWE's Attitude Era was touched upon in last year's Austin showcase mode, while WWE '13 took us right through the heralded era.
WCW seems by far the best choice for the new game.
In terms of singular character driven modes, the likes of Daniel Bryan, Sting and maybe even WWE's franchise player John Cena are the front runners to have a showcase dedicated to them. But since The Undertaker had his streak dealt with in 2K14, which practically rules him out of the running for a few games to come you would have to believe, a mode dedicated to a brand or period in wrestling history just seems far more appealing at this stage.
