WWE 2K17: 13 Major New Details Triple H Just Revealed
2. Ratings Can Be A Subject Of Competition
Difficult questions are an inevitability on conference calls, but Triple H is a pro and if he felt any discomfort at being asked about Bret Hart's apparent offence at his rating being lower in WWE2K, he didn't let on.
Still, Triple H said that the locker room is an incredibly competitive environment and that rivalry will inevitably exist over ratings:
"There's a report that somebody was upset that their video game ranking was lower than mine? Um, I did - uh, no, uh, I don't even know how that, to be honest, works. But, I suppose there probably is. Look, I see guys arguing about stuff all the time in the locker room. And video game rankings would probably be maybe a part of that. I know they're very competitive with each other in a lot of ways. And, I'm sure they're competitive of playing this game like they are so many others.
So, it wouldn't surprise me... Yeah, I would imagine they're competitive with every... trust me, the locker room can make anything a competition."
It's surely only a matter of time before the appeal of Xavier Woods' video game channel, and of WWE 2K games reach their inevitable narrative point and we get feuds in the ring based solely on ratings envy.
