Even despite a year partly ruined by injuries, there's no way 2K will possibly downgrade one of the hottest current brands on the roster. It helps their cause that Rollins has come back strong and that he's inevitably returned straight to the main event picture, but it wouldn't have been a question either way.
His time out since WWE 2k16 might well stunt any increase in overall rating on last year, but he won't be downgraded, so a solidification of last year's rating is probably the right move.
Even though the game and product aren't precisely linked, 2K have to reflect the product to keep their game relevant and dropping Rollins would not be a smart move to that end.
