WWE 2K22: 10 Hands On First Impressions You Need To Know
3. Referees Are…Slow?
Hmm.
2K might want to up the tempo of counts before releasing the final product here. The cadence of pinfalls is especially off - everything has that 'Earl Hebner at WrestleMania when he's been knocked out' feel to it, which is fine for dramatic moments but maybe not as standard every single time.
Seriously, is there any need for counts to be as slow as they are? It's "1..............2..............3" when it should be "1...2...3", if that makes sense. There also seems to be an even longer pause between the counts of two and three as well, which is something else that needs to be fixed before launch.
2K might've wanted matches to be drenched in tension, and it's admirable that they know longer counts can help that, but things are a bit too clunky right now. Refs in general need some work; there were a few instances when they turned their heads away from the action for no reason whatsoever.
