Xbox Series X: 10 Worries Microsoft NEED To Address
1. The Price
I've said it for Sony and I'll say it again for Microsoft: How much will it cost to purchase the new most powerful console on the market?
It's an undeniably critical factor that will determine the Series X's success out of the gate. There's been a fair bit of info released for the system, but the strain on gamer's wallets has again been left to the background for the time being.
Much like the competition, Microsoft is very hesitant, knowing revealing their price first costed them dearly in the previous generation. By bundling in the new Kinect with the Xbox One, the previous console costed a full £100 more than the competition, massively crippling Microsoft's success margins from day one.
Now that Microsoft has ditched that useless motion peripheral, they should have an easier time charting a fairly affordable price tag on this occasion. Pundits will point to the system's power, its similarities to the PC platform and finally the supporting hardware like controllers and other accessories.
Many of these have not yet been revealed by Microsoft yet, though the company has garnered a negative reputation for forcing players to use officially branded Xbox products.
There's no doubt that when the prices do arrive, they may tip the scales for many a consumer.
