10 More Horror Movie Shots That Will Send A Chill Down Your Spine

1. Claire's Big Day - The Stylist

From writer/director Jill Gevargizian, The Stylist is a 2021 feature-length take on Gevargizian's own 2016 short. Here, the focus is on Najarra Townsend's Claire, a troubled, lonely hairstylist who is forever envious of the lives of others.

There's clearly a lot that's gone on with Claire to get to this point - a lot that hopefully will at some point be fleshed out a little in a follow-up - but the crux of it is, she ends up drugging and scalping certain clients of whom she's particularly jealous. These scalps are kept in a secret basement room, where Claire wears them and dreams of what could be.

When her bride-to-be friend Olivia (Brea Grant) asks Claire to fix her hair for her upcoming wedding, our titular trimmer is ecstatic. With the rare opportunity to maybe make some new friends, poor Claire is ultimately mocked by Olivia's inner circle, which in turn sets the wheels to The Stylist's climax in motion.

That climax? Why, it's the unnerving shot of the bride cheerily walking down the aisle, friends and family eagerly gazing on, only for the wedding veil to be lifted and for us to see the visage of a smiling, emotional, ultimately distraught and dejected Claire with the scalp of Olivia resting on her head.

Seriously, The Stylist is such a smooth, smart, stylish (no pun intended) horror movie; one that's absolutely worth going out of your way to hunt down.
